How We Work

Since 2004, when we drove our first stake in the ground, Split Rail has worked one way: understand the problem, prove the facts, align the people, execute.

The firm was built in campaigns, where every engagement ends on a fixed date with a win or a loss. Most consequential problems don’t come with an election day. So the work begins by defining one: what does winning mean here, and by when? The method exists to answer that question and then deliver on it.

Understand

Before recommending an answer, we work to understand the objective, the organization, the environment, the stakeholders and the people involved. Engagements here include organizational assessment, leadership counsel, and team development, including workshops and retreats built around how your organization actually works.

Measure

We separate evidence from assumption. Research, benchmarking, stakeholder analysis and clearly defined measures of success help leaders make better decisions before resources are committed.

Mobilize

Strategy only matters when it becomes action. We help align people, resources and communications around a clear objective: government relations, stakeholder engagement, coalition work, public affairs counsel and execution support through to the result.
